These are my keyrings-lucky charms for 2011. I've sent quite a lot to my friends...

Tras semanas de preparacion de mini-regalos de Navidad para mis amistades del resto del mundo...(así como mis amistades que profesan otras religiones que tambien celebran fiestas en estas fechas), confieso que no he tenido mucho tiempo para hacer cosas nuevas. Los días pasan (cuidando a mis padres) no quiero dejar pasar el tiempo sin ir publicando las cosas que voy haciendo (siendo el reflejo de como voy aprendiendo y evolucionando con el crochet)...
After several weeks of hooking and preparing my mini-presents for my friends overseas (including my friends from other religions who also celebrate their festivities) I must confess I haven't had much time to hook new tings. Days pass by (taking care of my parents) and I do not want to let more days go by, without editing the new things I'm hooking (being this the reflection of all I'm learning and also how I'm growing in crochet)

Este llavero lo hice para mi buen amigo (casi hermano) Paco. Es un fan incondicional de la pelicula Wall-e...Así que le hice su ¡Eeeeeeva! Esa Eva que todo hombre busca.... This keyring is dedicated to my buddy (almost brother) Paco, an inconditional fan of the Wall-e movie. Here is Eva...The Eva every man is looking for

JANUCÁ EN CROCHET --- CROCHETED HANUKKAH

Tengo una buena amiga de la adolescencia a la que este año quería sorprender para su Janucá... No encontré mucha información en la web sobre como realizar cosas a ganchillo... Todo eran fotos y ningún patrón....

I've got a good friend from my teen age years. I wanted to impress her for this year's Hanukkah. Couldn't find much information on the web. Patterns which could help me. All I found was pics but no patterns...



Primero tuve la idea de hacerle un "dreidel" peonza con la cual se juega apostando monedas o caramelos. Cada cara del dreidel tiene una letra hebrea que tiene una valoración númerica (Cabala)Según que lado salga pues el jugador pierde todo o ganar todo lo apostado sobre la mesa.
First I decided to hook a "dreidel". A toy with hebrew letters on each face. Hebrew letters have a value in numbers (Kabbalah) Players bet either some coins or sweets. Chances of loosing or wining everything may vary according to the letter which comes out.

Luego vinieron las monedas y los caramelos....Lo más fácil de hacer...

Afterwards the coins and sweets came along... The easiest to hook of all....

Y todo dentro de un estuche....All wrapped up in a crocheted case...




Luego tuve la idea de hacerle una guirnalda con Estrellas de David...No encontré patrón con estrellas de 6 puntas pero en el maravilloso blog de Michele encontré la guía para hacerlas....Gracias Michelle, tus obras de arte y tu generosidad nos ayudan a las que hace poco hacemos crochet. Aquí está el tutorial para la guirnalda de estrellas de cinco puntas.

Then I thought of hooking a Star of David Garland. Couldn't find patterns which would suit me. But thanks to wonderful Michele "> I found the perfect guide to hook them...Thanks Michelle your works of art and your generousity really help us the beginners in crochet. Los patrones están en inglés pero no hay de que preocuparse por que hay imagenes bien detalladas y es fácil comprenderlo.

Este es el resultado final. Espero que a mi querida amiga Debbie en Charlotte le guste....Aunque no lo haya recibido a tiempo para la Janucá de este año...Lo tendrá para el 2011.

This is the final result. I hope that my dear friend Debbie in Charlotte likes it...I know that she did not get it on time for this year's Hannukah...But sure she will for next year's.

Ahora sigo con mis adornos de navidad.

Now I must go on with my Christmas decorations.
