FELIZ 2012

Hola a todos.
Siempre durante los primeros días del año nos hacemos buenos propósitos. Eso no está nada mal. Sin embargo creo que nos proponemos cosas sin pensarlo demasiado y simplemente nos proponemos metas muy imposibles de cumplir.
Quizás sea más práctico empezar por pequeñas cosas e ir aumentando poco a poco. Las metas se cumplen paso a paso...
Hace pocos días una artista maravillosa que se llama Alisa Burke publico un video en su web. Su creatividad es hermosa y se ha visto aumentada por el reciente nacimiento de su hija Lucy Matisse. Aún así Alisa sigue creando y lo comparte con el maravilloso descubrimiento de ser madre.


Básicamente ella dice lo siguiente:
Solo se necesitan 30 días para crear un nuevo hábito. (Media hora al día es suficiente)

Hello everyone,
Every new year we start to do wish lists. That's not bad at all. Anyway I think we start to write down lists for things to be done and we do not really meditate about them and our promises for the beginning year are simply too impossible to achieve.

Maybe it's more practical to think of little things and as time goes by we can increase our effots step by step. Some days ago the wonderful artist Alisa Burke posted a video in her website. Her creativity is amazing and it has been recently increased by the birth of her baby Lucy Matisse. In spite of her busy time she still shares with us all her creativity and the discovery of motherhood.

The words that inspired me were these:
It only takes 30 days to form a new habit. (Half an hour a day is enough)

A pesar del poco tiempo que tengo para hacer cosas he logrado preparar parte de los pequeños regalos de navidad para mis amigas en la distancia.
In spite of the little time I have to do my things, I've managed to craft part of the little presents for my  far away friends.
Siempre me gustaron las Kokeshis, esas adorables muñequitas japonesas hechas de madera y que se regalan a la familia y amigos como muestra de cariño y como amuleto de buena suerte.
I've always loved Kokeshis, those adorable Japanese Dolls made of wood and given to family and friends as tokens of love and lucky charm.

Detalle de bufanda de flores japonesas que hice para el cumpleaños de mi amiga Camino. No tuve tiempo a sacar fotos en detalle, durante esos días Mamá todavía estaba enfermita.

GUIRNALDA DE PASTELITOS - CUPCAKE GARLAND

Parece que hace siglos que no aparezco por este país del blog. Estoy haciendo muchas cosas. He recibido algún encargo y debo confesar que no he publicado ni fotografiado todo lo que he hecho. MEA CULPA. Mamá está bastante bien. Parece que la base del problema, aparte de su demencia senil, era que tenía una infección de orina que alteró todo su organismo. No tenemos idea desde cuando sufría de esta infección. He aprendido que cualquier cosa: una ligera infección, unas décimas de fiebre, estreñimiento, etc. etc. pueden alterar severamente la salud de una persona mayor. Así que si alguien que lea este blog se encuentre al cuidado de una persona mayor y note que se altera,o sufre de cambios de humor...tenga en cuenta estas pequeñas cosas. De haberlo sabido hace meses Papá y yo nos habríamos ahorrado muchos nervios. Ahora ella está bien teniendo en cuenta que en enero cumplirá 90 primaveras. ¡Haremos toda una celebración! Hace un par de meses hice esta guirnalda para el cumpleaños de mi preciosa primita Belén. Le gustó tanto que quiere reutilizarla para su árbol de navidad. Estoy preparando mis tarjetas - regalo de navidad de este año. Creo que mis amigas se sorprenderán porque no será algo muy tradicional. Una vez haya terminado de hacerlas y las haya enviado publicaré fotos....Ya sé que mis fotos no son de muy buena calidad...Creo que debo hacer un curso online de como hacer mejores fotos con mi sencilla cámara. Las instrucciones en para esta guirnalda están AQUÍ Están en inglés pero hay gráficos, lo que facilita mucho las cosas... Debo pensar muy seriamente empezar a traducir patrones...Porque hay autenticas maravillas en la red. Estoy a la espera de un par de libros de crochet japoneses que compré online...La verdad es que hacen autenticas bellezas... FELIZ VIDA - FELIZ LABOR. It seems to me it has been ages since I last showed up there in Blogland. I'm crafting quite a lot of things. I've even received some orders and I must confess that I haven't either posted or photographed the things I've made. MEA CULPA. Mom is doing quite good. It seems that the root of the problem, besides her Dementia, was that she had an Urine Infection. And this infection altered negatively all the body. We have no clue since when she was suffering this infection. One thing I've learnt: a slight infection, little fever, constipation, etc.etc. can severly alter the state of health of a aged person. So if anyone reading this blog is taking care of an old person and observes that there are slight changes in states of mood etc. Please take in consideration these issues. If Dad and I had know these things we would have saved so much time and stress. Now Mom is doing well taking in consideration that next January she'll be 90 years old. This will be a celebration! A couple of months I hooked this garland for my lovely little cousin Belén. She loved it so much that she wants to re-use it for her Christmas Tree this year. I'm working on my Christmas cards and Presents for my far-away friends. I thingk this year they will be surprised for it will not be a very traditional theme. Once I've finished all the crafting I promise I'll post everything... I know that my pics aren not of a very good quality...I think I must do an online course...with my simple camera. Pattern instructions for this garland are HERE I must seriously think of translating these patterns in Spanish...there are just so many wonderful thing on the web. HAPPY LIFE - HAPPY HOOKING!

PEQUEÑO CHAL PARA MAMÁ - SHAWLETTE FOR MOM

Empecé a tejer este pequeño chal para Mamá mientras estaba ingresada en el hospital y cuando vimos que iba mejorando su salud. Ella es muy friolera. Como utilicé lana y ganchillo grande lo terminé muy pronto... Ella está encantada con su pequeño chal lo usa como bufanda. El patrón lo conseguí a través del blog de Lucy y Sunshine Creations Depende de la lana y ganchillo que se usen el efecto varía un poco pero la verdad es que siempre da un resultado llamativo. La calidad de la foto no es muy buena lo sé.... Feliz labor... I started hooking this shawlette for Mom during her stay at the hospital and we saw that she would get over her health crisis. She is very "chilly" during all winter. As I used a big hook and chunky yarn I could finish it very easily. She's very happy with her shawlette and wears it as a scarf. I got the pattern through Lucy's blog. and Sunshine Creations According to yarn and size of hooks the result may vary a bit but truth be told you will always have a nice result. I know that the cuality of the pic is not so good but... Happy hooking
